If we divide the offer of long-term holders (LTH) – those who have Bitcoin for 6 months to 3 years – by offering short-term holders (STH) – those who have Bitcoin for less than 6 months – we get a ratio that can be interpreted in two ways.

First, when the value is high (over 1), this indicates that long-term holders control most of the supply. This generally suggests a more stable accumulation phase and market structure, with a reduced probability of short-term volatility. Long-term holders are less likely to sell, reducing market fluctuations.

Second, when the value is low (below 1), this means that short-term holders control a larger share of the supply. This may indicate speculative activity with volatility-related risks. Currently, the indicator is less than 1, which means that we are in an overheating area, similar to what we saw in previous peaks in 2018 and 2021.

The funding W are a key indicator for understanding market trends. Currently at 0.010, they show that bullish investors dominate the future contract market on Bitcoin. The inflow represent cash inflows to the market. On Coinbase Prime, these transactions take place in OTC (over the counter), i.e. directly from hand to hand, without going through traditional trading platforms. This allows institutions to buy bitcoin at lower cost, often directly from miners.
